Atlanta Trip

This month we had our first night away from the boys since Sam was born.  It was tough, but definitely needed!  I think it is important for us to have time away every now and then.  We of course miss the boys while we are gone, but come back with a renewed energy.  My mom came down and kept George (she was worried it would be too much to keep them both together overnight while Sam is still so little) and Aunt C, Uncle Steve and Lily kept Sammy.  We are so thankful to have such wonderful family to allow us to have some time to ourselves, and we are able to relax knowing that these boys are in great hands!

So, Drew and I took a trip to Atlanta! My dad had given Drew a trip to drive a race car at ATL Speedway.  We left bright and early Saturday morning.  We stopped in Eufalla and had lunch at a great little cajun place.  Auburn was playing to MS. State so we both enjoyed listening to the game on the radio.

We stayed at the Omni Hotel in downtown Atlanta, and it was awesome!  This was the view from our balcony. It overlooked Centennial Park.

We spent the afternoon walking around the park and all over downtown Atlanta.  We then got ready to head to dinner.
here we are before dinner..I wish it wasn't so blurry.
After dinner we met up with Drew's old roommate for a little while and then called it a night.  Sunday was the day Drew drove the race car.  We got up early and left for Atl Speedway.  It was so cool!  The place was huge and Drew had a blast!  He drove the car by himself and got up to 125 mph!! Scary!
We had such a fun weekend, thanks so much to our wonderful family for taking such wonderful care of our babies! We love y'all!

Baby Sam: 3 Months

Baby Sam turned 3 months last Thursday!  I'm sure I say this every post, but time is just flying by, our baby is growing up so quickly.  He is still the smiliest, happiest baby in the world..well, besides his big brother! :)

  • Sam weighs about 15 pounds and is very long!  He is still such a chunk
  • He is wearing size 2 diapers, but about to outgrow them!  The next pack we buy will have to be size 3
  • He LOVES to eat :)  He is still nursing great and has 1 formula bottle at night before bed.
  • Sam is a great sleeper! He is almost sleeping through the night, if he wakes up it is usually once between 3 and 4.
  • This boy loves his bath!  Both of our boys are water babies and LOVE being in the water!  Sam smiles and coos every night through his bath
  • His favorite toys are his activity mat- he loves to swat at the toys, and he loves his giraffe on his car seat- it has a mirror that he loves to look at.
  • He is getting so close to rolling over and I think he will be doing this by 4 months!
hanging out with G! They love to sit share G's chair haha

He is so playful :)

I love him in this outfit! Thanks, Mimi and Poppy!

He is changing daily.  It is so much fun to watch him as he discovers and learns all about the world around him.  Sam is such a joy and melts our hearts every day! We love our boys!

Pool Day

Today the boys, Drew and I packed up and headed out to the pool to spend some time with Mimi and Poppy.  We all had the best time! George absolutely LOVES the water! He hasn't really been in the pool much this summer.  With Sam being born in June, it has been pretty tough this summer..but today was perfect!
Here is a video of George swimming

George has no fear, he wasn't scared at all!  After a few minutes he was jumping in to Drew..I couldn't believe it.  He would jump right in. I think we have a future swimming star on our hands :)
Thank you Mimi and Poppy for inviting us! We had so much fun!

Here are some pictures from the day:

Happy boys! Ready to go to the pool..George was trying to give Sam a bottle..lol!

He had so much fun!!

Sam also had fun cuddling with Mimi!

This is one happy baby!

Football, Family and Fun

Football season is finally here!  We have been counting down to the first game for months..so it was a big day in our house.
Game day morning in their Roll Tide jammies..thanks, Gigi!!

It just so happened that my dad and step-mom were planning to be at the beach for the week, so they decided to come over for the night to watch the game with us.  George was soo excited to see   Pop and Nana! Mimi, Poppy, Uncle Steve and Lily also came over..we had a packed house and G was so excited he didn't know what to do, lol!

Dressed and ready for the game! Supporting our two favorite teams- Go Noles and Roll Tide!

Everyone had a wonderful time, especially since we won!  In the morning we got up and daddy made pancakes, our favorite! After breakfast we got out the sprinkler.  We found it at Target, and George LOVES to play with this!

Enjoying lunch at the Yacht Club

We spent the rest of the day showing Pop and Nana around Panama City, had a wonderful lunch at the Yacht Club with Mimi, Poppy, Aunt C, Uncle Steve and Lily and enjoyed a boat ride.  We had such a fun visit!

Happy Birthday Megan!

Last weekend we packed everyone up and headed to Dothan for our cousin Megan's 2nd Birthday party.  M loves Winnie the Pooh so, she had a Pooh party! It was too cute.  My Sister-in-law did an awesome job putting everything together!  George refused to nap all day, so I was very worried that he would be over tired and these days that means tantrums! But, he did great! He had so much fun playing with all of the kids- especially big cousins L and M! Sam had fun too, he got lots of cuddles! :)

2 Months

Well, we have made it to 2 months! I know I say this all the time, but I just cannot get over how quickly this baby is growing!  We have seen so many changes in him this past month!

  • Sam started smiling at 6 weeks- he is now smiling all the time!  He loves it when mommy and daddy talk to him.
  • He also loves his big brother!  George loves to give him kisses and play with him and Sam loves it!
  • He is cooing with us all of the time.  We love hearing his sweet little voice :)  My SIL and I were talking about how sweet his baby noises are, and she had the best idea of recording them.  So  I will be posting a video of this soon.
  • Sam loves his bath!  He never fusses during bath time, and really enjoys splashing around in the water.
  • He is on a pretty good schedule- only waking one time during the night between 3:30 and 4:30, usually.  Occasionally he even sleeps through the night!
  • Sam had his 2 month check-up and he is doing great!  Here are his stats:
    • Weight: 13 lbs 15 ounces- between 75th and 90th percentile (closer to 90th)
    • Height: 24 inches long- 85th percentile  He is a big boy! :)
Lastly, because I started this blog after Sam turned 1 month old, here is his 1 month picture!

I can't get over how much he has grown in a month!

Welcome to P.C. & Gigi's Visit

This past weekend my sweet mother-in-law and two of her friends hosted a wonderful welcome to Panama City party for me. It was so much fun!   I met a wonderful group of girls, all with kids, so we had lots in common! We had a beautiful lunch and got to spend some time getting to know everyone. Thanks so much to my sweet and thoughtful MIL for putting so much time and effort into making me feel so special and welcome! :)

George loves reading and cuddling with Gigi!

The boys were not happy campers when it was time for Gigi to go

We love you Gigi and can't wait for you to come back soon!
